Rayne police detective, family killed in single-vehicle crash, chief says

ACADIA PARISH, La. ( KLFY ) — A Rayne police detective, fiancé and child were killed in a single-vehicle crash, the Rayne Police Department announced Friday.

In a social media post, Chief Carroll Stelly said Det. Javonta Flugence, fiancé Amber Davy, and two-year-old child, Caroline Flugence, were killed in a single-vehicle crash on Friday.

“This loss is beyond words, and our department is grieving deeply,” Stelly said in the social media post.
