NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — High-res forecast models remain intriguing regarding spin-up tropical mischief in the Northwest Gulf over the next 48-72 hours.

While development is unlikely, it’s not zero. Regardless, heavy rain & flooding will be the risk regardless of sneaky formation before moving inland to SE TX/SW LA.

Heaviest rains look to remain along the coast with lower amounts further inland. Hot spots of 3-5+ inches of rain possible.

Rain chances will remain scattered to numerous across southern Louisiana Thursday-Saturday.

It won’t rain all day, every day…but it’s a good idea to keep the umbrella around into the weekend! We need the rain, we just don’t want too much of a good thing!
