    Texas man killed in Houma motorcycle crash

    HOUMA, La. ( WGNO ) — A 29-year-old Texas man was killed in a crash while riding a motorcycle in Houma on Wednesday, Aug. 28.

    The Louisiana State Police reports Garret Ellisor, of Canyon Lake, Texas, was driving a 2021 Yamaha motorcycle southbound on Louisiana Highway 311 around 5 p.m. as he approached Sugar Highland Boulevard.

    Roy Miller Jr., of Houma, was driving a 2024 BMW X6 eastbound on Sugar Highland Boulevard as he approached the highway. According to the LSP, he failed to yield to the motorcycle, and the two collided.

    Ellisor was wearing a helmet but died at the scene. Miller was wearing a seatbelt and wasn’t injured.

    The LSP reports Miller didn’t appear impaired and voluntarily provided a breath sample that indicated no alcohol detection.

    The crash is being investigated.
