Louisiana is ‘very demure, very mindful,’ ranks in Top 5 states using viral term on social media

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — Across social media platforms, one of the most trending keywords is “demure.”

According to a study done by the gaming website Wild Casino , data shows between the last 30 days, demure was used in more than 400,000 tweets.

The term became viral after Jools LeBron from Chicago used it in a TikTok video saying , “very demure, very mindful” to describe a makeup look for work.

“Demure” is defined as reserved and modest, according to Merriam-Webster dictionaries.

Data shows that Mississippi is the state with the most “demure” usage, followed by Louisiana. Other Southern states lead the trend across the U.S.
