Gulf low extends rain into the weekend

NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — We are watching the potential development of tropical system in the northwestern Gulf of Mexico. This will ensure the continued soggy pattern over coastal Louisiana for today, tonight, and tomorrow. As of now there is a low chance of this further developing into a tropical depression, but if it were to gain organization, our impacts will still remain fairly similar – gusty winds at times, moments of heavy rain, and the potential of flash flooding. Many locations have already seen near 1 foot of rain so far this week.

Highs in the upper 70s this afternoon, temps fall into the middle 70s for Friday night football games with showers and storms continuing.
