New Orleans hosting ‘We Love Taylor’ week for Taylor Swift Eras tour

NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is coming to the Caesars Superdome, and it will be a three-day extravaganza in late-October.

The City of New Orleans is preparing to welcome the superstar with a “Taylor Swift Week.” The week-long welcome is called “We Love Taylor.” This week will be a series of community engagement and outreach events surrounding the global star and will welcome her to New Orleans.

The schedule will be as follows:

Monday, Oct. 21: Super Shout-out from New Orleans Schools

• The City of New Orleans will extend the opportunity to area high school students to showcase their best “We Love Taylor” videos welcoming the global star to New Orleans. The videos will be posted on the city’s YouTube channel.

Tuesday, Oct. 22: Super Second Harvest Food Drive

• Across the country, during the Eras Tour concert stops, the tour has supported local food banks . In recognition of Swift’s charitable support of food banks, the city will collaborate on an awareness campaign to engage the local community, to give to a donation drive that will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank and help families with upcoming Thanksgiving holiday donations.

Wednesday, Oct. 23: Super Voting Awareness Drive

• Swift has a strong history of supporting voting awareness. In recognition of Swift’s support of community voting awareness, the city will hold a day of general voter awareness messaging regarding the upcoming November election.

Thursday, Oct. 24: Super Social Media “We Love You Taylor Awards”

• The mayor’s office will do a social media presentation naming Thursday, Oct. 24 “Taylor Swift Day” and will present a Key to the City to Swift via social media. In addition, the city will invite other regional leaders to post their own social media video award to honor Swift.

Friday, Oct. 25: Super Swift Fashion Day

• The city will recognize a city-wide dress like Swift fashion day.

The Eras Tour will take over New Orleans on Oct. 25, 26 and 27.
