    New Orleans’ University Medical Center trying to identify injured man

    NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — University Medical Center is asking for the public’s help in identifying an injured man who has been at the hospital since Aug. 6.

    According to UMC, the man was taken in after being found near Claiborne Avenue and Calliope Street.

    It is believed that the man sometimes uses a wheelchair, is widely known as “Pops” and his first name may be Robert.

    He stands around 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighs roughly 211 pounds and has white hair and blue eyes with significant cataract clouding. The man has no visible tattoos, although he does have a scar on his left thigh above his knee.

    🤞🏻 Hopefully this situation is resolved TODAY!! It's heartbreaking seeing him in this condition without any family aware. It's sad. 🤞🏻
