NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — John Curtis and Rummel were set to open the 2024 regular season at the Shrine on Airline, but the rainy weather conditions have forced the teams to move their games to the Caesars Superdome.

John Curtis will play Rabun Gap-Nacoochee from Georgia at 5 p.m.

Lafayette Christian and Rummel will follow around 7:30 p.m.

According to Superdome officials, doors will open at 4 p.m. and fans can enter the facility through the Gate F Exterior Plaza.

Rabun Gap-Nacoochee is the country’s 72nd-best high school football program in America.

Lafayette Christian returns to New Orleans for the first time since their runner-up in the Division II Select state championship last year.

The Raiders were a few plays away from a trip to the dome in 2023, falling to eventual Division I Select state champion Catholic of Baton Rouge in the semi-final round.
