FNF Week 1: Edna Karr beats Archbishop Shaw 48-21

MARRERO , La. ( WGNO ) – Archbishop Shaw hosted Edna Karr to begin their 2024 seasons, but the battle between two 2023 state semi-final teams featured torrential downpours.

The Eagles and Cougars combined for six turnovers, including four in the first half, but despite Shaw scoring the first touchdown, Karr’s offense dominated the day.

The Cougars beat the Eagles 48-21, advancing to 1-0 on the season, and will face Opelousas High School in week two.

Shaw will try to snag its first win of the season next week against West Jefferson.
