FNF Southern Quality Ford Dealers Scholar-Athlete: St. Charles Catholic’s Jackson Doster

LAPLACE, La. — One key quality of every St. Charles Catholic Comet is discipline.

Jackson Doster exemplifies that both on the football field and in the classroom with a 4.54 GPA and 32 on the ACT.

Jackson Doster: ” I think that staying disciplined in the classroom helps with staying disciplined in football because if you fall behind on your studies, you don’t have any schedule. So, you don’t lift. You don’t do the work that you need to. You don’t study the playbook, watch film. Just like you wouldn’t do your homework,” said St. Charles Catholic senior Jackson Doster.

Richie: “That discipline. Why is it important to play for this football team?”

“I mean, Coach Wayne is all about discipline. You can’t be a Comet if you’re not disciplined,” responded Doster.

Jackson wants to study law and play baseball in college. Head coach Wayne Stein believes his commitment to academics, athletics, and the St. Charles Catholic community makes both possible.

Jackson is also part of the National Honor Society and a leader in FCA.

I think he’s done it on and off the field and he does it in two sports for us. You know, he’s all- state baseball player. He’s been a two-year starter in football. A lot of that stuff in the classroom does come naturally to him, but he works hard at it. And I think that he’s realized that it’s going to give him an opportunity to also play at the next level. We know that the academics and athletics together open up more doors for him to possibly to do it in either football, baseball, whatever he chooses. So, you know, he’s one of those guys that he’s the ultimate type of Comet. He’s a little bit undersized. He runs extremely well. But he’s a winner. And so he’s definitely deserving,” said St. Charles Catholic head coach Wayne Stein.
