Father, son accused in Desire-area shooting wanted by New Orleans police

NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — The New Orleans Police Department is asking for the public’s help in finding a father and son accused of shooting a man in the Desire neighborhood.

NOPD officers reported on Sept. 13 that they were called to the scene of a shooting in the 1300 block of Oliver White Street around 10:50 p.m. When they arrived, a 20-year-old was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was taken to a hospital by NOLA EMS for treatment where he was listed in stable condition.

Through an investigation, detectives identified 54-year-old Jerome Benjamin Sr. and 18-year-old Jerome Benjamin Jr. as suspects, and also discovered that shooting happened in the 3300 block of Maurice Duncan Drive.

Warrants have been issued for their arrests.
