    Additional arrests made in fatal Labor Day weekend shooting

    NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — Additional arrests have been made in the case surrounding a Labor Day weekend shooting that left a woman dead in Mid City.

    New Orleans Police Department officers announced the arrest of two men in connection to the homicide of 29-year-old Raven Francis.

    On Sept. 1, the NOPD responded to the call of a shooting at the corner of Baudin and South Solomon streets around 2:45 a.m. Police reported the incident allegedly began in the parking lot of Shamrock Bar and Grill in the 4100 block of South Carrollton Avenue.

    The investigation revealed four women were found with gunshot wounds in a addition to Francis who died at the hospital.

    On Sept. 17, Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s deputies and Louisiana State Police found and arrested 18-year-old Jomar ‘Glizz’ Walch, on a warrant issued from New Orleans.

    Days later on Sept. 26, 19-year-old Davvon Davis was located in Baton Rouge and taken into custody by the U.S. Marshalls Office and NOPD’s Violent Offender Warrant Squad.

    The two now face a charge each of second-degree murder in addition to aggravated assault charges stemming from a Sept. 12 shooting where no one was hurt.

    On Sept. 4, 25-year-old Chante Mark was the first to be identified in the investigation. She was found and arrested in St. Bernard Prish on a charge of second-degree murder.

    NOPD officers say additional arrests are possible as the investigation remains ongoing.
