Top Taco to return to Lafreniere Park for 2024

METAIRIE, La. ( WGNO ) — Top Taco is making its way back to Lafreniere Park for a seventh year of tacos, tequila and fun.

According to a news release, this year’s event is slated to take place on Oct. 24 and offer a variety of tacos, cocktails, a VIP BBQ experience, a Casamigos costume contest, a mechanical bull, goat yoga, a petting zoo and live performances from the Lucha Krewe and NOLA Nightlights.

Festival organizers said featured restaurants and vendors include Acme Oyster House, Atti NOLA, Bar Car, Blake’s Place, Cafetomas, Cajun Flames, La Cocinita, Las Cruces, El Cucuy, Don Carne, Everything Spice, Fantasy Tacos, The Filmore, Galaxie, Gonzo’s Smokehouse, Chef Chas, Jacquel’s Catering, Loft18, Los Jefes, Lufu NOLA, Mister Oso, Mr. Taco, Maze Lounge, Namaste NOLA, NOLA X Birria, Nori Guys, Observatory Eleven, Panchitas, Peewee’s Crab Cakes, Plates, Ruby Slipper, Soule Cafe, Southerns, Tacos & Beer and Velvet Cactus.

Organizers said attendees can also expect to see cocktail and spirit tastings from 21 Seeds, Agavales, Arette, Botana, El Buho, Casamigos, Codigo1530, Corazón, Corralejo, Don Julio, Dos Hombres, ElVelo, Excellia Tequila, Herradura, El Jimador, Lalo, El Luchador, Mi Campo, Milagro, Noel Family Distillery, Penta, Pueblo Vieja and Tito’s Vodka.

Festivalgoers participating in the VIP BBQ experience can expect signature tacos from The Backyard, Cochon King BBQ, Food Drunk, East Gate BBQ, Hard Core BBQ, The Joint and Smoked, as well as cocktails featuring Mi CAMPO Tequila, Casa Noble and wines and spirits from Constellation Brands.

Top Taco also includes live music performances from Dave Jordan & the NIA, Otra, Margie Perez & Muevelo and The Riverbenders.

Festivalgoers will also be able to participate in a Best Taylor Swift Costume contest and enjoy Swift’s music from a Taylor Swift DJ in the Dome Collective Silent Disco.

According to festival organizers, proceeds from the festival will go toward the PLEASE Foundation.
