Crews respond to fire at four Lower Garden District buildings

NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — Crews with the New Orleans Fire Department responded to a fire that involved four buildings in the Lower Garden District on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

The New Orleans Fire Department reported that crews were dispatched to a four-alarm fire in the 1800 block of Hastings Place around 1:57 p.m.

NOFD officials said the fire impacted four buildings, and at least people have been displaced.

Firefighters said all residents either safely escaped or were not home when crews arrived.

According to the NOFD, two firefighters were injured. No other injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and residents were advised to avoid the area while crews worked to get the fire under control.

NOFD officials said firefighters got the blaze under control around 5:07 p.m.
