    Inmate suicide reported at Louisiana prison; Department of Corrections reports

    BATON ROUGE, La. ( KTAL/KMSS ) – The Louisiana Department of Corrections is investigating an inmate suicide at a state prison on Friday evening.

    A news release from the DOC said the incident happened on October 4 at around 6:30 p.m. at the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center. Corrections officers said they found the 21-year-old inmate hanging and unresponsive in his cell and “immediately began CPR.

    He was pronounced dead at 7:07 p.m.

    The man has been an inmate at Hunt Correctional Center since July. His name is withheld until his next of kin is notified.

    This is an ongoing investigation.

    For the negativity posting on this story Your comments would be totally different if this were a family member of yours. It doesn't matter if they were a inmate they're still HUMAN and someone's loved one period. Someone is suffering their loss right now and probably feeling they're being punished for the second time over a crime they didn't commit in the first place. So think about that before you spew your negativity.
