    Man arrested after shots fired toward New Orleans police officers executing warrant

    NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — Members of the New Orleans Police Department’s Force Investigation Team are investigating an officer-involved shooting after shots were fired toward officers on Saturday, Oct. 5.

    The NOPD reported that officers were serving a warrant in the 3100 block of N. Tonti Street around 7 p.m. when 36-year-old Devin Green allegedly opened fire at the officers.

    NOPD officials said Green then allegedly barricaded himself inside a residence after exchanging gunfire with police.

    According to the NOPD, the standoff follows a double shooting in the 2300 block of Louisa Street around 2 p.m. that left one man dead and another wounded.

    Officers said the standoff lasted for several hours before Green surrendered to police.

    Green was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder, and “additional charges are expected to follow.”
