Which mayonnaise cheers loudest for LSU football?

NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — It’s history.

LSU Football makes it official.

Blue Plate Mayonnaise is the official mayonnaise of LSU Football.

Dan Trahant at Blue Plate headquarters believes that any good football team needs three key items: a good head coach, a good quarterback and the best mayonnaise around.

WGNO Good Morning New Orleans features reporter Bill Wood has a little Blue Plate history to spread around town.

In New Orleans, the old Blue Plate factory has been reconfigured into lofts and serves as the home of Sonn Milton.

“Every sandwich I make, I must add mayo,” said Milton.

And for him, it’s either Blue Plate or nothing.

“A po-boy without Blue Plate is just a sandwich.”

Test Kitchen Chef Stacey Gay says the mayonnaise can be used for practically anything including chocolate cookies.

“You’re home, forgot the eggs, oil. You’ve got Blue Plate,” said Gay.

The legendary spread of the south still scores.
