    Woman dead following homicide in Seabrook neighborhood

    NEW ORLEANS ( WGNO ) — A woman is dead following a homicide that occurred in the Seabrook neighborhood of New Orleans on Wednesday, Oct. 16.

    According to the New Orleans Police Department, officers were called to the 6200 block of Bridgehampton Drive around 7:15 p.m. in response to a report of aggravated battery by shooting.

    LaPlace brothers arrested following drug investigation

    On scene, a woman was declared dead by EMS after having been shot at least once. The incident was confirmed as a homicide just before 8 p.m.

    A man, 35-year-old Christopher Gentris, has been identified as a person of interest in the investigation and is being sought by the NOPD for questioning.

    Officials with the NOPD say Gentris is not currently wanted on criminal charges in the investigation, however, detectives believe he may have knowledge that could be vital to the investigation and would like to interview him.

    The investigation remains ongoing as investigators gather evidence and information to identify the responsible party and a motive in this incident.

    Woman arrested in connection to Lafourche Parish drug bust

    The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and the official cause of death following the completion of the autopsy and the notification of the victim’s family.

    Additional information will reportedly be released as it becomes available.
