An American-style comfort food eatery with roots in Connecticut has just announced plans to open three locations in South Carolina. Chuck Wagon will soon open restaurants in Myrtle Beach at 4012 Postal Way , Hilton Head Island at 95 Mathews Dr , and Charleston on King St .

Owner Chris Nakis , who moved from Connecticut to South Carolina three years ago after closing the original Chuck Wagon, shared that the restaurant is a collaborative venture with his wife, Joanne , and cousin, Andy . Together, they are driven by a shared passion for exceptional food and hospitality. Notably, Nakis also owns the popular Mulberry Street NY Pizzeria in Murrells Inlet.

While Nakis and his partners will oversee the Myrtle Beach and Charleston establishments, the Hilton Head Island location will be under the ownership of franchisee and fellow Connecticut native Rich Ambers . Nakis is actively on the lookout for additional franchisees to join the growing Chuck Wagon enterprise.

Describing the ambiance, Nakis told What Now Charleston that the quick-serve eatery will sport a “real country western Clint Eastwood theme,” complete with “longhorns, cowboys, prairies, etc.”

As for the menu, patrons can expect high-quality offerings such as burgers crafted with Texas-based Bastrop Cattle Company beef, chicken sandwiches featuring Bell & Evans poultry, and pork sourced from Windy Creek Farm in Virginia. “Quality is our key,” Nakis said. “Even our buns are buttery brioche from Fire King Bakery.”

Among the standout specials are the ‘Swine Time Dog’ featuring pulled pork and slaw, hefty 1 1/2-pound stuffed baked potatoes, ‘Holy Swine Burgers,’ and the ‘Oh My Cod’ sandwich, which showcases ale-battered cod fillets. Additionally, fries will be served in scoop shapes, perfect for dipping. As Nakis puts it, the menu promises “some real cool stuff.”

The team is targeting a Myrtle Beach launch in the next two or three weeks, with the Hilton Head establishment set to follow in roughly two months. As of now, a specific opening date and address for the Charleston Chuck Wagon has not been announced.
