Bojangles locations in the Triad area are getting an upgrade, according to plans recently shared by Bojangles. Construction is currently underway or set to start across multiple locations in Winston-Salem, Thomasville and Walkertown.

The five locations currently planned for construction are part of a larger 15-store revamp in the area. The construction involves remodeling locations to reflect the new signature Bojangles restaurant design known as the Genesis prototype. The design includes digital menu boards in the drive-thru, an updated color scheme, new awnings and signage. The remodels will also include squared off arched parapets.

Overall, the remodels aim to give the Bojangles locations a more modern look and to improve the dining experience for guests. The locations are expected to remain open during renovations.

“Our history in the Triad area spans decades, so we’re excited to show our appreciation and commitment to our guests and employees in these communities by investing in upgrades that will elevate their experience,” Jim Cannon, chief development officer for Bojangles, told Triad Business Journal .

The chicken-centered fast food chain is known for its fried chicken and its chicken sandwiches, as well as its signature Bo fries and other sides such as macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes and gravy. It began in Charlotte and now has grown to more than 820 locations in 17 states.

The remodels are expected to wrap up this fall, and the Triad Business Journal estimates the project totals more than $2 million in investment from the fast food chain. It appears that the locations still set to undergo construction are all corporate-owned restaurants.
