According to a recent Dayton.com article, a new Thai restaurant is coming to Xenia, called Nara Thai Kitchen, located at 68 Xenia Towne Square, in the former home of a buffet eatery. Currently, Nara Thai Kitchen is slated for a soft opening some time in April. The interior buildout is in progress and restaurant owner Joe (Pairote) Narapongporn, tells What Now Columbus that the 2,400 square foot eatery will have seating for around 60 guests and will offer dine in, carryout or delivery options.

“The interior buildout is happening now, and we’re converting the buffet layout into a more open layout and causal atmosphere,” Narapongporn said.

Nara Thai Kitchen will be the first restaurant for Narapongporn, and it will also be the first Thai restaurant in Xenia. The eatery will be family owned and operated, and Narapongporn said the intention is to provide the best food, service and experience to guests.

The restaurant’s interior will feature traditional decor found in Northern Thailand, which is where Narapongporn is from.

“There will be decorative paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling and hanging flags made from paper,” he further explained of the decor.

Menu offerings will range from starters such as spring rolls and Thai fish cakes, soups include tom yum, tom kha and wonton soups and entrees like sesame chicken, grilled pork as well as grilled chicken and other proteins, and noodle dishes like pad Thai and pad kee mao.

“Thai food has many different varieties, some are similar to Chinese food, and many dishes are spicy, but the level of spice can be adjusted for each customer’s taste,” he said.

And, Narapongporn said some dishes aren’t spicy at all, but he recommends that guests try a lower level of spice if it’s their first time eating Thai food.

In addition to the food, there will also be Thai coffee, Thai milk tea and other teas traditional to Thailand, as well as soda and soft drinks. Narapongporn said they also plan to have a small selection of beer and wine, including a selection of Thai beer, as well as regional offerings, depending on availability.
