Pins Mechanical Opts to Renovate, Expand its Fourth Street Location Over Moving to The Peninsula

As first reported by Columbus Business First , the Pins Mechanical Co. located at 141 N 4th St in downtown Columbus will expand in its current space rather than move to a new building at The Peninsula. The previously announced move by Pins and the developer, and originally included relocating the Fourth Street Pins as well as the nearby 16-Bit + Arcade, both owned by Columbus-based Rise Brands, to a 40,000-square-foot space at The Peninsula. Now, those plans have been scrapped.

Per information in the article, Rise Brands purchased the building on Fourth Street this year for $3.4 million, and with the purchase, the company now intends to utilize the building’s 5,000-square-foot second floor and renovate the space to expand within its own building instead of moving into another space that will be leased.

CEO of Rise Brands Troy Allen was quoted in the previous article as saying that there is no benefit for the company to move out of a building that they own. Allen continued to explain in the Columbus Business First article that the economics changed, and also sited the six Pins locations the company currently has under construction in other markets as additional factors for the Fourth Street location’s expansion.

With three locations in central Ohio, as well as Nashville and Indianapolis and plans to expand to other cities such as Austin, Pins is known for being “an adult playground” that features duckpin bowling, pinball and video games, as well as cocktails, mocktails and beers.
