An intriguing new restaurant is making its way to the DC dining scene. Barbouzard, a French-Mediterranean concept from Dany Abi-Najm, Nasr El Hage, and Nellie Elana Gebrail, is coming to the Farragut Square region next year, reports the Washington Business Journal.

The eatery, whose name is a French word for “secret agent”, will be taking over the space at 1700 K Street, NW, last occupied by Kellari Tavern. Barbouzard will occupy a 6,493 square feet with space for up to 180 customers. Additionally, the restaurant will contain a lounge, a main dining room, a DJ booth, and a champagne lounge. A patio will allow for outdoor seating.

The Barbouzard team is aiming for a spring of 2025 opening.

El Hage states that the restaurant will bring something new to the the DC table: “It’s going to bring a unique experience to Washington, and add to a thriving restaurant scene that, I think, is going in the right direction in D.C.”

Future customers can look forward to dishes prepared with seasonal ingredients, featuring cheeses, seafood, and meats, as well as quality wines, champagnes, and cocktails.
