Whataburger’s expansion in Colorado continues, with Pueblo becoming the latest city to welcome the iconic Texas-based burger chain. A new restaurant is coming to the site at 2850 W. Pueblo Blvd., according to the Pueblo Chieftain.

A ceremonial groundbreaking event occurred at the property last week, marking the beginning of construction for the highly anticipated eatery. It’s part of a 2-acre commercial development near the Lowe’s store at the intersection of West Pueblo Boulevard and South Prairie Avenue.

Operated by BurgerWorks, which has been a Whataburger franchisee since 1997, the location is part of the brand’s strategic push into the Colorado market, which began in 2022. Locations have been opening in recent years in the Colorado Springs metro area.

The restaurant, set to open in early 2025, will feature double drive-thru lanes, a spacious dining area with seating for 90, and a custom mural, a representative told What Now Denver. Guests will also have access to online ordering, curbside pickup, and delivery options.

“We appreciate the ongoing support from guests in Colorado who love the Whataburger brand. We’re so excited to bring bold, fresh Whataburger flavors to Pueblo with this newest location in Colorado,” BurgerWorks Colorado owner William Tamminga told What Now Denver.
