PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans is spreading its aromatic blends to Waller , thanks to its newest franchisee, David Stevenson . This venture marks Stevenson’s first foray into working with a franchise as well owning his own business. He will be setting up shop at the bustling corner of US-290 & Field Store Rd .

PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans , established in 1978, has grown into a beloved chain renowned for its rich, flavorful coffee blends that are sourced directly from coffee farms in Nicaragua, Honduras, and Ethiopia. Celebrated for its commitment to quality, sustainability, and community, PJ’s Coffee offers a wide variety of hot, iced, and frozen coffee beverages, alongside a selection of teas, light fare, and baked goods. With its warm, inviting atmosphere and dedication to providing a superior coffee experience, PJ’s Coffee continues to expand its footprint, bringing its unique taste and authentic New Orleans coffee culture to new communities across the United States and beyond.

David Stevenson’s leap from a 40-year career in engineering and consulting for the oil & gas industry to the coffee business is driven by his passion for quality coffee and community. A self-proclaimed coffee snob, Stevenson’s daily grind shifted during the pandemic when he started frequenting a local coffee shop for its superior brews and reliable Wi-Fi. This routine brewed a new dream: to own a business that combined his love for coffee with the joy of connecting people. PJ’s stood out among the rest during his search for a brand he felt fit his same affection and palette. “I’m doing it because I like coffee, and I like people,” Stevenson shared with What Now Houston . His commitment is further solidified by purchasing a three-unit deal, signaling the promise of two additional locations once the Waller store is percolating success. He eyes expansion into neighboring towns Brenham and College Station, both currently without a PJ’s presence.

The Waller location is set to be a cornerstone of a brand-new development, with Stevenson leading the charge as its first tenant. This strategic move not only introduces PJ’s Coffee’s beloved flavors to a new audience but also paves the way for further expansion in the Texas market. Stevenson’s vision extends beyond just serving great coffee; it’s about creating a hub for the community, a place where people can gather, share stories, and enjoy a cup of quality brew.

According to a comps report, Stevenson is all set to move into his 2000-square-foot come November 2024.
