Porter is set to welcome a new culinary destination with the opening of Sakura Bistro , located at Farm to Market Road 1314 & Grand Parkway . Co-Owner Guo Zhiqiang confirmed the news and shared insights into the restaurant’s offerings and the inspiration behind bringing this concept to Porter.

“We saw Porter’s population growing, with many new constructions, but noticed a lack of Asian restaurants in the area,” Zhiqiang explained. “So, we decided to bring our food here and let the residents come and give us a try.” Sakura Bistro’s menu will offer a wide variety of Asian cuisine, including sushi, hibachi (Japanese grill), ramen, egg rolls, and imported beers. Diners can also indulge in Japanese mochi desserts and sake.

Sakura Bistro is not Zhiqiang’s first venture in the restaurant industry. “Our other restaurants include Wasabi Bistro in Conroe and another Sakura Bistro in Magnolia.” This Porter location will mark the third addition to the family.

While an exact opening date has not been confirmed, Zhiqiang hopes to pass all inspections and permits for a launch before March 2025. With its diverse menu and unique blend of Japanese and Chinese cuisine, Sakura Bistro is poised to become a local favorite.
