A rapidly expanding taco truck will soon open a brick-and-mortar location inside the FedExForum .

According to The Daily Memphian , TacoNGanas will bring its much-loved birria-style tacos to one of the main concession stands near the entrance of the arena at 191 Beale St in Downtown Memphis .

TacoNGanas already operates 16 food trucks across seven Greater Memphis locations. In addition to the FedExForum eatery, three more outlets are expected to open by the end of 2024, including its first permanent site in Germantown . (This location was initially slated for a March 2024 opening, but it looks like the timeline has been delayed.)

A prominent figure in Memphis’ religious and business communities, owner Greg Diaz has been subject to a federal investigation related to wage violations. Allegations surfaced in 2022, accusing Diaz of illegally recruiting workers from Mexico and subjecting them to long hours with low pay. It remains unclear if the investigation is ongoing.

These concerns were not addressed in Diaz’s recent interview with The Daily Memphian . Instead, he focused on the upcoming expansion, stating, “TacoNGanas is 901 made. We love this city and the community, and we can’t wait to celebrate this news with the city of Memphis.”

The FedExForum menu will showcase TacoNGanas’ signature birria-style steak and chicken tacos, featuring corn tortillas dipped in a spicy oil made with dried peppers. The eatery also serves quesadillas, tortas, birria-style Mexican pizzas, birria ramen, and more.

The FedExForum TacoNGanas location is expected to open this fall, just in time for preseason basketball.
