Magic 13 Brewing Co. – one of Miami’s foremost independent, homegrown breweries, taprooms, and live music/entertainment venues – unveiled its newest innovation with the Monday, July 15 launch of Magic Kitchen (MK). Owned and operated by M13, this new culinary concept – created by Renata Ferraro – former chef/partner of Key Biscayne’s Flour & Weirdoughs – takes advantage of and its inspiration from M13’s spirited outdoor patio with live fire cooking at its heart.

Smokey and sizzling in all the right ways, the new menu features a bevy of grilled meats and seasonal vegetables, as well as elevated bar food – all from a menu that was designed to perfectly complement the brewery’s distinctive brews. Offers Ferraro in a statement, “Putting this menu together was a lot of fun. It’s all craveable and pairs well with Magic 13’s hand-crafted beers and cocktails. Working in tandem with the partners we came up with a menu that offers lots of choices that go well beyond the brewery norm – ranging from snacks to composed plates and even desserts – and includes a number of dishes made with Magic City beers.”

“We’ve had food truck partners since opening in January 2023 but decided it was time to bring the operation in house and create a concept that reflects our concept and considers the needs of our clientele more fully,” offered owner of Magic 13 Ricardo Romano, ferring to the collaboration with Chef Renata and the launch of Magic Kitchen. He adds, “We knew what direction we wanted to go in as far as food and were lucky to be able to work with Renata to translate it into reality.”

The party gets started with wings offered either bone-in or boneless with a choice of buffalo, mango habanero, lemon pepper, or BBQ flavors, served with garlic aioli, blue cheese, or ranch dipping sauces. Speaking of bone-in, MK offers BBQ Ribs (half of full rack) beer-braised, slow-cooked to perfection and finished on the grill, served with coleslaw or fries. The Sausage Platter features an array of sausages including salchicha parrillera, chorizo, chorizo picante, and morcilla, accompanied by bread, cilantro, garlic aioli, and charred lemon. More Magic Munchies include a variety of Tacos (carne asada, al pastor, mahi or grouper) and additional hot appetizers include Empanadas (Argentinas y Colombianas), Roasted Street Corn made with roasted corn, butter, tajin, lemon aioli and cotija and Tequenos, prepared with garlic aioli, cilantro aioli and fig marmalade.

Those seeking something from the cold side of things will enjoy a Charcuterie Board, which features two cheeses, salami, prosciutto, house-made pickles, bread, herbed butter and choice of roasted red peppers or eggplant spread. In a similar vein, a Beet Salad – roasted red and golden beets with arugula, goat cheese, lemon vinaigrette, pistachios, and baguette chips or Ceviche, made with fresh local grouper or mahi, marinated in leche de tigre and complemented by red onions, cilantro, roasted sweet potato, corn, and crunchy papitas. A handmade Pretzel – a taproom menu must – differentiates itself from the pack with three unique salsitas: beer cheese, beer mustard, and stout chocolate. A classic Baba Ganoush is made-to-order with eggplant fresh from the grill, olive oil, pine nuts, crudites, bread, baguette chips, and charred lemon.

Of course, Magic Kitchen will offer a variety of sandwiches and burgers and sandwiches including The Classic Burger, made with lettuce, tomato, pickled shallots, cheese, garlic aioli, and fries, with optional bacon or truffle Sandwich highlights feature The Chicken Sandwich, with lettuce, tomato, pickled shallots, garlic aioli and avocado; The Fish Sandwich, prepared with the local catch (blackened optional), lettuce, tomato, pickled shallots, cilantro aioli, and coleslaw; and The Steak Sandwich, a 6-8 oz skirt steak with lettuce, tomato, garlic aioli, chimichurri, and pickled shallots on a baguette, served with fries. The Colombian Hot Dog – a fan-favorite – is a frankfurter topped with crispy papitas, shredded cheese, pink sauce, pineapple relish, and bacon bits, while the Choripan pairs chorizo with chimichurri and aioli on a baguette. On the sweeter side of things, a dessert favorite includes Churros, perfectly paired with a rich stout chocolate sauce.

Magic 13 Brewing Co. is located at 340 NE 61st Street. Magic Kitchen is officially launching on Thursday July 25 and will be open for dinner on Mondays, and lunch and dinner Tuesday though Sunday.
