Newk’s Eatery Planning Nashville Comeback

Newk’s Eatery is seeking a comeback in the Nashville area.

Newk’s has been absent from Nashville since its location at 2714 West End Ave in Midtown shut down earlier this year. Other locations in Belle Meade and Brentwood had closed prior to that. There are currently three open locations in surrounding areas, including two in Murfreesboro and one in Franklin.

CEO Frank Paci told The Tennessean that the brand is planning to return to Nashville. Newk’s has undergone a period of restructuring, and is now aiming to open at least six new locations in the Nashville market and 25 restaurants across Tennessee, according to the article.

“We’re looking at opportunities to come back into Nashville city proper,” Paci told The Tennessean.

As of now, the concept is in the beginning stages and there are no locations selected yet.

Nashville is not the only market where Newk’s is seeking expansion. Paci told What Now Charlotte during the summer that it is seeking expansion in the Charlotte market, as well.

Newk’s was founded in 2004 in Mississippi by the Newcomb family. Since then, the fast-casual chain has grown to more than 100 locations in 13 U.S. states, according to its website.

The menu consists of sandwiches, soups and salads, including popular items like the Newk’s Q sandwich and the salmon caesar salad. Newk’s also serves a variety of pizzas, such as the spicy shrimp pizza and Newk’s “Q” pizza.
