The owner of the highly successful Empire Wingz in Baton Rouge is planning a major expansion outside the Capital Region, and the first stage of that expansion will be a new location in Ascension Parish . Vic Smith has signed a lease for a new Empire Wingz location at 705 S. Burnside Ave. in Gonzalez, which is slated to open this fall. The restaurant is known for its Buffalo-style chicken wings and boneless wings that come slathered in a variety of sauces. The new location will feature both a bar and dining area.

A new Empire Wingz restaurant in Ascension Parish is just the first step in expansion plans that include new locations from New Orleans to Houston . Smith will reportedly launch an Empire Wingz food truck in New Orleans as a sort of pilot project before committing to a brick-and-mortar location. The restauranteur is also hoping to connect with former LSU football players for franchising opportunities.
