Parma Nuova Opens on the Upper East Side
Parma Nuova is a new casual fine dining Italian restaurant from former La Masseria General Manger Giorgio Manzio and La Masseria Group, Giuseppe “Peppe” Iuele (formerly of La Locanda dei Vini), Vincenzo “Enzo” Ruggiero (formerly of Bice NY), and Executive Chef Giuseppe “Pino” Coladonato. Together, they have taken over the space of Parma an Upper East Side stalwart that opened in 1977. Parma Nuova, meaning the new Parma, will retain the trademark fine dining quality service of La Masseria with a focus on the flavors of Parma, Italy in a more relaxed environment.
Miss Lily’s Adam Schop Plans New Hudson Yards Restaurant
The chef behind one of New York’s favorite Jamaican restaurants is getting ready to debut a brand new project in Hudson Yards. Chef Adam Schop is well known in New York as the chef and owner of Miss Lily’s, an exceptionally popular Caribbean restaurant that has since expanded to Dubai and Jamaica. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, Schop is a hospitality veteran with decades of experience in the industry. He has served as Executive Chef at both Delacosta and Le Diplomate, two highly acclaimed restaurants in Chicago and Washington DC, respectively. In New York, Schop was also well known as the chef and owner behind Nuela, earning Star Chef’s coveted Rising Star award in 2011.
New Seafood Restaurant And Raw Bar Planned For Lower East Side
An exciting new seafood restaurant and raw bar is currently getting ready to debut in the Lower East Side later this year. Chin Up is a brand new bar and restaurant concept from owners Brian Grummert, Blake Walker, and Henry Alvarez. Brian Grummert is best known as the owner of Subject, a wildly popular cocktail bar in the lower east side. Located at 188 Suffolk Street, Subject was designed to evoke a cozy, beautiful aesthetic, inviting guests to enjoy premium cocktails in a space that’s reminiscent of their own homes. Focusing on big and expressive cocktails, Subject is well known amongst fans for its extensive spirit and natural wine selection.
Black Seed Bagels opens in Boerum Hill
Black Seed Bagels officially opens its 9th shop in NYC, located at 252 Schermerhorn Street in Boerum Hill (at Bond Street), connected to the Ace Hotel Brooklyn. The shop will operate daily from 7am to 3pm. At ~700 square feet, it features an ordering counter, a pick-up area with a separate entrance from Bond Street, three eat-in counters with indoor seating for 17 people, and a dedicated merch area. There is also an entrance from the Ace Hotel lobby.
