Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is set to open a new drive-thru restaurant in Riverside. A construction site at 4100 Central Ave. has been active while the company prepares for the location.

An existing two-story medical building was demolished to make room for the popular fast-food chain. The lot, where Central, Brockton, and Magnolia avenues intersect, spans nearly an acre of land.

Currently, the project is undergoing a building plan check before permits are issued. The business wants to build a new 2,913-square-foot restaurant with drive-thru lanes for up to 23 vehicles.

Riverside was the first city in the Inland Empire to welcome the Louisiana-based chain in 2017, when it opened a drive-thru location on Magnolia Ave. The chain now operates 89 locations throughout California, with most located in SoCal.
