Chaupain Bakery appears to be heading to 2622 San Miguel Dr. at the Newport Hills Shopping Center in Newport Beach. The shopping center’s directory currently lists the bakery as “coming soon” to the site.

The location was previously home to Pacific Whey Cafe.

The bakery is led by husband-and-wife team Sami and Sarah Ellouze . Sami originally started the brand at a farmer’s market in Bakersfield, but the couple did not open a brick-and-mortar location until 2017 after they moved to Orange County.

Chaupain Bakery has two locations: one in Laguna Hills and one in San Clemente. What Now Orange County previously reported that there is one more location in the works at John Wayne Airport, slated to open by the end of 2025.

The local bakery is known for its French-style artisanal baked goods and pastries. It also serves a full breakfast and lunch menu, ranging from French toast or eggs benedict to sandwiches, soups and salads.

As of now, it is unclear what the timeline is for the Newport Beach location.

What Now Orange County has reached out to ownership for more information on the upcoming location and the opening timeline but has yet to receive a response. Stay tuned for updates on this location.
