A pair of local franchisees are opening a new Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream location in a Citrus Heights shopping center at 8055 Madison Ave. This news was first seen in the Sacramento Business Journal .

Located inside the Almond Orchard shopping center, the upcoming location will be the franchise’s largest area site, occupying a 3,500-square-foot space. The location is currently under construction and is anticipated to open in early October.

Local franchisees Blake and Melissa Carlile is a multi-unit franchisee for the Handel’s brand and also owns locations in Folsom, Elk Grove, Roseville, Natomas and Rancho Cordova. The new Citrus Heights store will be the Carliles’ sixth location.

“This will be our largest location, so we are planning to have a party room that can be reserved for private parties,” Melissa Carlile told the Business Journal. “The location will accommodate walk-ins and walk-ups. We’ll have 24 flavors that are consistently featured daily as well as 24 rotating flavors.”

Other eateries inside the shopping center include Fabian’s Italian Bistro & Bar, El Balcon Bar Taqueria, and Del’s Family Pizza. What Now Sacramento reached out to Carlile but hadn’t heard back by the time of this coverage.
