A fictitious business name filing for Esmeralda’s Cafe was submitted by owner Griselda Sanchez in August, according to Sacramento County records. The business will take over Ste 2 at 5825 Madison Ave , which previously belonged to Seafood Craze .

Esmeralda’s Cafe will mainly serve breakfast food, according to partner Marco Vargas . Vargas told What Now Sacramento over the phone that the restaurant is anticipated to open by the end of September and will operate from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week once open.

Meanwhile, Seafood Craze has closed recently, according to its Yelp listing . However, the business did not make any official announcements on its website or social media pages. Some diners shared on Yelp that pricing and a lack of business may be the reason behind the closure.

Other eateries along Madison Ave in the area include Nour’s Cafe, Thai Hut, Bottoms Up Espresso, Carl’s Jr, a KFC location right next to the proposed eatery.
