Local Brunch Chain Plans New Location in Auburn

Mario’s Early Toast has leased a space in Higgins Marketplace off Combie Rd and Highway 49 . The new restaurant is anticipated to open in May 2025. This news was first seen in the Sacramento Business Journal .

Higgins Marketplace is a commercial shopping center and also serves as a village square. The center is anchored by a Holiday Market and mainly consists of retail businesses including a CVS pharmacy. The center is also home to a Starbucks location, a frozen yogurt shop called Culture Shock Yogurt, and Java Dream Coffee Roasterds.

“The reason I took that project was because there’s absolutely nothing in that area that can compare to what we do, so I think it is really needed there,” Mario Astorga , founder and president of Mario’s Early Toast, told the Business Journal.

The restaurant will fill in a space in the same building with an El Dorado Savings Bank branch. Since the space was never previously occupied, the project will require a full build-out, setting the anticipated opening time at late spring/early summer of 2025.
