According to Palo Alto Online , a new vegan sushi spot has arrived in downtown Palo Alto.

Located at 461 Emerson Street , Tane Vegan Izakaya has taken over the former Zadna Bowl space, neighbor to establishments such as Evvia Estiatorio, Nola, and Reposado.

The Journal reports that the eatery soft-opened on August 13 and that “the Tane team hopes to open more locations of their vegan sushi restaurant in the coming years”— adding that “the name Tane (which translates to “seed”) is a metaphorical representation of that goal.”

On the menu, locals can expect to find a “Hawaiian poke bowl (with king trumpet mushroom and aged tofu), the nasu misoyaki (with grilled eggplant “unagi” and bok choy), the Monterey roll (with seaweed marinated king oyster mushroom, torched spicy aioli, cucumber, grilled asparagus, avocado and habanero pearls) and the Kahala roll (with lomi, kabocha squash, cucumber, avocado, ginger shoyu tomato and gold flakes),” Palo Alto Online writes.

A grand opening date has yet to be scheduled, shares co-owner Ray Wang . Stay tuned for updates.
