According to Palo Alto Online , the chef behind popular concepts Zola and BarZola is teaming up with a former football professional to revitalize The Old Pro sports bar.

Located at 541 Ramona Street — near concepts such as Coupa Cafe, Ramen Nagi, and Reposado — The Old Pro originally opened in 1964 and operated until 2022 and was a popular hangout for university students and football fans alike.

Former Indianapolis Colts and Stanford Cardinal quarterback Andrew Luck tells the journal that the concept will continue as The Pro and “pay tribute to the legacy of tech industry leaders Bill Campbell and Mike Homer, who both invested in The Old Pro in 2002.”

Chef Guillaume Bienaime tells What Now San Francisco that the menu will boast typical sports bar snacks with a “contemporary spin” alongside chops and steaks, “all made from scratch.”

“Come for the food stay for the game” is the main idea, he continues.

Bienaime shares that The Pro is slated to open in mid to late 2025. Stay tuned for updates.
