The Badgett family has a rich history of supporting education throughout western Kentucky and began their support of Murray State more than 15 years ago. The family honors the legacy of Mr. Rogers Badgett, who established the Badgett Construction Company and Badgett Mine Stripping Corporation (1943-1976). Mr. Badgett was known as a "Working Man’s Man"; however, he understood the need for formal education and support. Scattered storms popping up across central Kentucky this afternoon have really helped bring some relief from the heat. Temperatures in Lexington fell nearly 10 degrees in just under two hours this afternoon as the rain pushed through the area. Some cities, like Mt. Sterling, are nearly 15 degrees cooler than yesterday at this time due to the rain.
