WHEELING, W.Va. (WTRF) — What was once the Ihlenfeld Dining Room and the Glassworks Bar and Grill, is now Trace Chophouse and the Skyline Kitchen and Bar.

President & CEO of Wheeling Park Commission Bob Peckenpaugh says Oglebay is excited to unveil these newly redesigned spaces that celebrate the spirit and rich history of this region.

“We’ve created a new chophouse, a steakhouse look and feel. It’s going to be a boutique, 50-seat space, it’s got that frontiersman feel. It’ll be carved stone and dark woods and dark lighting.”

Peckenpaugh says hidden within the chophouse is a speakeasy, and those who know the password will get a glimpse at this modern twist.

For those looking for a more comfort food-centered menu and a room with a view, check out the Skyline Kitchen and Bar.

“When you turn to look at the space you’ll be looking out at the horizon where you’ll see the trees over Schenk Lake. So, when you’re sitting at almost every table in the space or every chair in the space, you’ll be able to see that view.”

Or if you want a more hands-on approach to your meal, mix it up in the display kitchen.

“We’ll have a chef out there that will teach you how to cook, we could have a celebrity chef come in and prepare food that would wow you. You can rent the space for a group of up to 36 people.”

The renovations don’t stop there. Sarita’s Coffee & Goods has a new home in the lobby area and is the perfect one-stop shop for coffee, pastries and Oglebay apparel.

Peckenpaugh says he can’t wait to invite the community back into these unique dining places and is looking forward to seeing the finished product in late July or early August of this year.
