Around 12:49 a.m. Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Troopers and Clark County medics were dispatched to the 3200 block of Ballentine Pike on reports of an ATV crash.

The preliminary investigation shows that 21-year-old Landon E. Overholser from Springfield was driving an ATV with a passenger, 21-year-old Kylie E. Coffey.

They were heading northbound on Ballentine Pike when Overholser sideswiped a second ATV, lost control, and went off the left side of the road.

The ATV struck a fence and overturned. Both Overholser and Coffey were critically injured, according to an OSHP spokesperson.

Overholser was flown by Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital. He died from his injuries at approximately 6:18 a.m.

Coffey was taken to Springfield Regional Hospital where she died from her injuries.

Ballentine Pike was closed for about 4 hours while the crash was under investigation.
