Labor Day Sales: Here’s what you should buy

Labor Day marks the unofficial end of summer, but it’s also a big weekend for sales.

To get the best deals you have to know exactly what to buy.

Andrea Woroch, a consumer savings expert, says there are a lot of deals out there.

As reported on News Center 7 at 6:00, it’s not just those summertime essentials you can save big on, it’s things you wouldn’t even think of, like a new car.

Woroch says dealers want to make room for the 2025 fleet, so you can find zero percent financing in some cases.

“Some of the best sales that I’m seeing for Labor Day are on those big ticket home items,” Woroch said.

That includes things like mattresses, appliances, and furniture.

“When you’re looking at 40 to 50 percent off these big-ticket items that are already costing hundreds of dollars. This is going to result in hundreds of dollars of savings,” Woroch said.

To save even more, Woroch recommends to look out for coupons you can stack, store loyalty reward programs, or a credit card bonus, but you need to be careful.

“A lot of times we look at those small monthly payments and it seems more affordable, but you know, you do need to ensure that it falls within your regular expenses,” Woroch said.
