    15-year-old injured in overnight shooting in Dayton

    Officers are investigating after a teenager was shot in Dayton early Friday morning.

    Dayton Police officers and medics responded around 1:17 a.m. to the 300 block of Xenia Avenue, according to Montgomery County Regional Dispatch.

    When they got to the scene, police found two teens, including a 15-year-old boy who had been shot, according to Dayton Police Lt. Steven Bauer.

    The 15-year-old was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

    The other teen, a 14-year-old boy, was taken back to his home.

    An investigation revealed that the shooting happened between McClure and Allen Streets, near Webbland Street.

    The shooting is under investigation by the Dayton Police Department’s Violent Offender Unit.
