    George Strait

    The King.

On this date in 1993, George Strait released what would become his 25th #1 hit “Easy Come, Easy Go” as the lead single from his 14th career studio album album of the same name.

It was written by his close friend Dean Dillon (who wrote many of his hits) and Aaron Barker, and of course it topped the country charts in what was a string of 60 #1 radio hits throughout his legendary career.

Additionally, it charted at #71 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, making it a minor crossover hit, and has since been certified Gold by the RIAA (meaning it has moved over half a million units since its release).

The sound is classic country, and classic George Strait, as he and his significant other mutually agree that it’s time for them to part ways because they’re just not meant to be… and while that in and of itself is a sad concept, he manages to make it sound so good.

It’s easy for songs like “Easy Come, Easy Go” to get lost in the shuffle of all of his massive hits, even though it did top the radio charts, but days like this always remind that pretty much everything he touched turned to classic country gold and as far as I’m concerned, The King never once missed.

    Turn it up…

    “Easy Come, Easy Go”

And how about his 2014 performance with Eric Church of “Easy Come, Easy Go” as part of the Cowboy Rides Away Tour (where he didn’t actually ride away for good, thankfully)… it’s so dang good:
