Dolly Parton To Launch Makeup Line “Dolly Beauty” This Month

This just makes too much sense.

Dolly Parton has been teasing that she has a makeup line in the works, and it looks like she’s about ready to launch her new brand Dolly Beauty here very soon.

This morning on Instagram, she shared a collaborative post with a new account called Dolly Beauty with a photo of her holding a tube of red lipstick with the caption:

“I feel glamorous on the inside, so I want to look like it on the outside… something is coming @dollybeauty.”

She’s also said before that she’s always wanted to create a makeup line of her own, and because it’s so intrinsically tied to her brand (and a pretty lucrative market), so I could easily see this being one of her most successful ventures yet, which is saying a lot because she has so many:

In an interview with WWD, she confirmed the news and says that her first line of products, Dolly Beauty’s Heaven’s Kiss lipstick, will come in four shades and go for $20 each, available online starting on August 22nd.

The packaging is gorgeous too, and perfectly Dolly, with each tube fully rhinestoned to perfection (click to the second slide to see them):

She says that this line is really just an extension of dreams she’s had since growing up in the country when she had to make her own makeup with what she had outside:

“I’ve always said I never leave a rhinestone unturned. I’ve wanted to be pretty my whole life like most girls, especially country girls that have a dream of glamour.

I started creating my own little makeup things at home when I was just a kid, and I’ve been known for wearing makeup — usually too much — for years.”

Dolly shared the names with WWD too, including one called Jolene Red, as well as Honey Plum, Rosebud and Birthday Suit. Dolly had a hand in every step of the process, and after years of wearing makeup, knew exactly what she wanted in terms of formulas and colors:

“Every time I put on makeup, I’ll find certain things I want to put in the line. A great, thicker gloss, or a pearly gloss, or something that I’ve used and will find in an old drawer I remember loving.

Lord knows, nobody wears more makeup than me, so I know all the little things I want.”

Dolly launched her own fragrance line in 2020, in addition to working on so many other side projects like her baking line, new cookbook with sister Rachel, and most recently, Dolly Wines. The women doesn’t stop, and when you think of Dolly Parton, aside from the incredibly talented singer/songwriter, you think of big hair and stunning makeup, so this makes so much sense and I am really excited for it to launch.

Dolly told the mag that more complexion, eye and lip products are in the works, and there’s always room for more under the “beauty” umbrella with which she is so familiar:

“I’ve always wanted my own wig line. But I always loved makeup, and when we did the fragrance, makeup seemed like the next step.

Through the years, we’ll be doing different products with makeup, and eventually, we may do hair care or this or that. Anything that has to do with beauty — new dreams come every day.”
