Audience Laughs At Anchor Kaitlan Collins When Stephen Colbert Says CNN Is An “Objective” News Network: “Was That Supposed To Be A Laugh Line?”

    The Late Show

Even Colbert’s audience got a kick out of that one.

Listen, I don’t have to tell you the problems with our media right now. Cable news networks are pretty much just activists posing as journalists at this point, and though they try to hide behind their job to pretend to be objective, it’s pretty clear that everybody on these networks has an agenda these days.

Although apparently CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins either doesn’t see it, or doesn’t want to admit it.

Collins, who is the host of The Source with Kaitlan Collins on CNN, has often been the subject of criticism from former President Donald Trump and conservatives for what many see as liberal bias in her reporting.

But during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, it seems that Colbert was trying to genuinely say that CNN is an objective news network:

“I know you guys are objective over there, that you just report the news as it is.”

Colbert’s audience knew how ridiculous that statement was though, and burst out laughing – which it doesn’t seem that the host was expecting as he started stuttering to try to explain that they really were objective.

With apparently Colbert and Collins both caught off guard by the laughter (not sure how they could be), Collins asked:

“Was that supposed to be a laugh line?”

    And Colbert responded:

“It wasn’t supposed to be but, I guess it is.”

Honestly, if they didn’t expect the laughter, they’re even more out of touch than I thought they were.

And listen, it’s not just CNN. All of the cable news networks, from Fox News to MSNBC, have their biases and aren’t exactly “unbiased” reporters. It just seems like CNN tries to deny it more than the other networks.
