Post Malone’s ‘F-1 Trillion’ Has Already Sold Enough Units To Be Certified Gold… & It’s Not Even Out Yet

Post Malone is making waves with his debut country album, F-1 Trillion.

The highly anticipated album hits streaming platforms and record stores on Friday. It features some of country music’s biggest names, including Hank Williams Jr., Chris Stapleton, Morgan Wallen, Sierra Ferrell, and more. The stacked lineup of talent featured on the album, besides Malone himself, has fans believing this record will be filled with hit after hit.

Many albums often have a lot of hype surrounding their release but then fall short and don’t live up to it. However, F-1 Trillion is already hitting significant milestones, proving the hype might be worth it.

Today, according to Chart Data, the album has already moved over 500,000 “units” in the United States which means it is eligible for RIAA Gold Certification. Back in the day, if you sold an album, you sold an album. But in the era of streaming, each digital download also counts as 1 Unit, whereas 150 on-demand audio and/or video streams will count as 1 Unit for certification.

The RIAA, or Recording Industry Association of America, operates the awards program that deems records and singles Gold, Platinum, Double Platinum, etc. The minimum number of units sold for a record or song to be considered Gold is 500,000 units, 1 million is Platinum, 2 million is Double Platinum, etc..

Having surpassed half a million units in sales, F-1 Trillion is well on its way to breaking some serious records.

Side note: After his set at Outside Lands from the weekend, I felt like this week would hold a lot of news surrounding Malone, and that gut feeling is coming true. I digress…

Malone and his team were geniuses when it came to marketing this record. His slow introduction into the music industry, constant teasing of songs, and highlighting of who he was in the studio had fans salivating to hear what was in store. The massive success of his singles already out with Morgan Wallen, Blake Shelton, and Luke Combs gave the perfect taste to the sound he is establishing on the record, thus leading fans to purchase the album during pre-sale. Combine that with the virality of the clips from ‘A Night In Nashville,’ he gave fans just enough of a teaser for the other tracks to push sales even higher.

I have a feeling F-1 Trillion will hit massive numbers just hours after its release come Friday. Post Malone is letting country music know he is here, and he is not here to play.

Fire up a few of the previously released singles while you’re here.
