Crocodile Chases Off Lions From Impala They Killed On The 9th Green At Skukuza Golf Club In Kruger National Park

    Fore please.

When I say you might not be ready for an outdoors video as chaotic as this one, I mean it. You’ve likely never seen a crocodile chase off a pair of lions from a freshly killed impala and dig right in, all while hyenas run amuck around the scene and try to steal a piece of dinner (all on the 9th green of a golf course). That’s right… there’s so much going on that I couldn’t even fit hyenas into the headline.

This all went down at Skukuza Golf Club in South Africa, which is no stranger to wildlife encounters. The golf course is located in Kruger National Park, which is home to lions, tigers, cheetahs, hyenas, and plenty of other animals that often walk the fairways of the grounds (usually at night).

Skukuza Golf Club is coined the “wildest course in the world” because of its location. Interestingly, the 9 hole (18 tee) course is located inside Kruger National Park in northeastern South Africa. The national park houses all five big game animals, boasting an impressive 147 different species at the African game reserve. It then also hosts – for some inexplicable reason – a golf course.

The course even concedes the safety concern on their website, stating:

“Since the course is not fenced-in, uninvited spectators are a common sight, hippo, impala, warthog and baboons to mention but a few.”

Not only does Skukuza Golf Club recognize that their golf course and the surrounding wildlife poses a safety risk. They also enforce that golfers that play the track know too, and require that those brave enough to go out and play it sign what’s basically a waiver saying the course isn’t responsible if something happens to you while you are hitting your little white ball around.

You can even catch a glimpse of a sign the course has by their final green in the video, which reads:

“Only persons who have signed the activities indemnity form are allowed beyond this point.”

And it’s clear there’s a good reason for that sign being placed in that exact location considering wild animal killing and impala carcass tug-of-war is taking place mere feet from where it stands. It’s incredible to watch the lions give up their kill so easily to the croc, but then again, that doesn’t look like a crocodile you’d want to mess with, does it?

Try telling that to the brave hyenas though that kept trying to swoop in:

If that’s not the brutality of nature playing out in full force, I don’t know what is.

Those that stumbled upon the video on social media were astounded by the chaotic nature of… the chaotic nature. That being said, they still had time to crack a few golf-related jokes (even a topical one about Matt Kuchar) and share their sympathies with the course’s greenskeeper:
