The Red Clay Strays are that band.

The Mobile, Alabama group was on fire prior to the release of their latest record, Made By These Moments, and since then, fans have been raving nonstop about their sound and songwriting. Just a few days after the record hit streaming platforms and shelves of record stores, The Strays hit the stage of Nashville’s Brooklyn Bowl to celebrate the new tracks and give fans a chance to hear many of them live for the first time.

Granted, they tinkered with a few tracks off the album during their shows for a bit, but hearing the final product that made the album is always special. The energy at the venue was electric, playing in front of a packed house.

It’s been roughly two weeks since the release of the record and the show, and the Red Clay Strays are now sharing bits from the magical night with those fans who could not be there. Today, they released the video performance of “Ramblin,” which features none other than their producer on the record, and famed producer in general, Dave Cobb. Cobb is best known for his work on some of country music’s most loved albums, producing projects for Chris Stapleton, Jason Isbell, Colter Wall, Whiskey Myers, Sturgill Simpson, Brandi Carlile and more.

Growing up in Savannah, Georiga, Dave Cobb was born into a religious community and began playing the drums and guitar at the age of four. While Cobb was still new to the industry, he had a short stint as the bass/guitar player for the Britpop band The Tender Idols. Cobb was still producing on the side and produced The Tender Idols, one of the three EPs the group released.

Dave cracked his fingers for the Red Clay Strays album release show and let the room know he can shred. Cobb joined the band for the high-energy track “Ramblin’,” and after the drummer counts them off, Cobb dives into the lead guitar riff and sets the tone for the rocking track.

“Ramblin'” was a stellar choice to have Cobb sit in on because of the multiple guitar parts, and he has fun putting his own flair on a few licks. The entire performance is a straight heater, and you can feel the passion behind everyone playing on the stage.

This one should be fired up at max volume.
