Last week, a real estate listing by Interluxe, a luxury home auction company, stated that a house (and land) was for sale in Brentwood, Tennessee with ties to country music star Kenny Chesney.
Well, apparently that’s not exactly close to the truth…
The massive home is listed for $3.5 million, was previously on the market for $10.5 million, and was built in 2018. It spans over seven acres of land and all of the amenities you could ever want or need, and there are five bedrooms, six and a half bathrooms, a chef’s kitchen, screened in porch, a golf simulator, guest house, movie room, gym, tennis courts and even a stocked pond.
The home is located about 10 miles south of Nashville in Brentwood, and is absolutely stunning in every way, from the interior to the land and luxurious exterior. The description stated that Chesney had owned a small piece of land with a writing cabin on it, before the mansion was there, where he would go to get spend time and work on his craft.
And while everything about the house and property, which does have a small cabin on property, certainly looks fit for a country star, Chesney sent out a passionate statement this morning clarifying that he has no ties whatsoever to the property and he never did, nor did anyone in his orbit from employees to family. He clarified that he simply owned a piece of land next to it, and no longer does.
He stated that the company has ignored a cease and desist, and he said that they’re now purposefully perpetuating a “fairy tale” and using his name to make a sale very dishonestly:
“After multiple attempts by my team, working through the media to correct and clarify a blatantly false claim about my ownership and involvement for a property being put up for auction in Brentwood…
I once owned a small adjacent parcel of land that has been annexed. No part of these buildings being auctioned were ever inhabited, used for writing or any other purpose by myself or anyone in my employ or orbit. I have been used as clickbait to exploit people who might care about my name, art or other aspect of life – and I have a massive problem with this sort of deception.
That someone issued a press release does not make it true. In fact, it just makes it actionable, as they’ve misrepresented and widely distributed a fairy tale that’s light years from reality. Since discretion and trying to avoid serving a cease and desist letter has not worked, I want to make sure everyone is clear.
For anyone looking at this dwelling, as well as the land it sits on, please know: I have never been inside any part of it. You will not be accessing anything that has any emotional or personal attachment in terms of my life, and I am sickened that this was warranted as such. Anyone who has reached out for that reason – please be advised, this property has nothing to do with me.”
The website where the listing still states that Chesney has ties to the property (they also spelled his name wrong):
“The 320 sq. ft. guest cabin with one bedroom, a full bathroom, and kitchen provides additional privacy for the short or long-term guests. This cabin was imagined and built for Kenney Chesney for the purpose of song writing.”
If you’re interested in the home (which has NO ties to Chesney whatsoever), you can see photos below.
It’s gorgeous, and clearly they don’t need any star power whatsoever to make the home more beautiful or valuable, which makes the whole thing all the more perplexing.
